The Oyo state government has started making preparations of the signing of the Amotekun bill into law by Governor Seyi Makinde this week.
The governor is known have played a pivotal role in the establishment of the regional security outfit due to the central location and importance of Oyo State to the Southwestern region in Nigeria.
The southwetern security outfit idea was formulated by the south western governors with the sole purpose of providing adequate protection for the region which is slowly becoming an haven for the Fulani herdsmen who have sought to engage in various crimes.
The southwestern governors agreed to give the Amotekun bill a legal backing by the legislature of each state to overcome its illegality in the face of the Nigerian constitution.
