President-elect Joe Biden laid out a $1.9 trillion emergency relief plan Thursday night which will function an early test of his ability to steer the state out of an epidemic disaster and rapidly deteriorating economy — and his promise to unite a divided Congress.
The wide-ranging package is meant to require aim at the dual crises Biden will confront upon taking office Wednesday, with provisions delivering direct aid to American families, businesses and communities, and a serious specialise in coronavirus testing and vaccine production and delivery because the pandemic surges.
Biden campaigned last year on a promise to take the pandemic more seriously than President Donald Trump and therefore the package aims to place that pledge into action with an influx of resources for the coronavirus response and economic recovery.
