Eli Broad, American billionaire and philanthropist who is famed for contributing to the iconic Los Angeles’ cultural and arts landscape has died at the age of 87, OYOGist.com has gathered.
The billionaire built two Fortune 500 companies in his lifetime before his death. Eli Broad died on Friday, 30th April 2021, at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering from a prolonged illness.
According to Business Insider, Eli Broad played a role in funding and shaping institutions like the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.
The New York Times reported that a spokeswoman to the philanthropist’s Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation said that death came after a lengthy illness.
Forbes estimated his fortune at $6.9 billion before the time if his death.
