Oyogist.com has learned that the African centre of excellence for genomics and infectious disease has alerted the NCDC of the presence of the Indian Covid-19 strain.
Reports suggest that the detection of the Indian strain in Nigeria contributed to the recent Covid-19 protocols put in place by the Nigerian Government to curb it’s spread.
A commique issued to the NCDC sent by Prof. Christian hapi read;
“We have found five sequences of the Indian B.1.617 in the country, specifically in Edo and Osun states”.
