Reports reaching OYOGist.com shows that Oyo State has recorded 10 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 cases, after testing resumed in the state.
The State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, who is also the head of the state’s COVID19 Task Force, made the announcement on the night of Friday the 1st of May 2020.
OYOGist.com recalls that shortage of reagents required to process COVID-19 tests halted the results of the tests carried out in the state, causing the state to put announcement of results on hold.
Governor Seyi Makinde revealed that two of the new confirmed cases were reported late last night, with one from a doctor with the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, who returned from Kano and the other from a worker with the State Security Service.
The other eight positive cases were confirmed today, with two of them being residents of Ogbomoso, Oyo State and the other six being some Togolese nationals who came into the state.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at the 1st of May, 2020 to 31.
