The Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde has on Saturday 25th of April announced new moves to address the COVID-19 pandemic in the state while ensuring a continued flow of business and affairs for residents of the state, OYOGist.com has gathered.
The Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde addressed the people of the state during his daily COVID-19 Task Force Update on Saturday.
Part of the announcements the Governor made includes new measures that will help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the State Secretariat.
The new security guidelines to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Oyo State Secretariat include the following:
1: Having only one gate to serve as both entrance and exit point in the state. All other gates would be closed.
2: All meetings will be moved online.
3: No visitors accepted, unless absolutely necessary.
4: Ensuring there is hand washing facilities in strategic locations around the secretariat.
5: One 100ml hand sanitizer and face mask will be given to each officer.
6: Closure of all “Bush canteens” around the secretariat. Encourages all staff to bring their own food from home.
7: To place posters and banners in conspicuous places around the secretariat to revalidate guidelines for resumption.
The Governor further revealed that the dusk to dawn curfew in the state will be relaxed from 7PM – 6 AM to 7 PM to 5 AM to accommodate farmers during the planting season.
The Governor disclosed that the farmers are already being sensitized on how to stay safe during the pandemic.
