President Muhammadu Buhari has finally spoken to Nigerians on the coronavirus pandemic that has spread fear among millions of Nigerians as the number of confirmed cases rises, OYOGist.com can confirm.
Nigerians have expressed disappointment at President Buhari for remaining silent through the coronavirus pandemic, while other world leaders addressed their citizens daily.
Sharing a post on the steps Nigeria is taking as a government to fight the Covid-19 disease, the President said that protecting the lives of Nigerians “is a key priority for us as a Government.”
Buhari also reminded Nigerians that “we have the Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) working round-the-clock with several other agencies, as well as State Governments, to ensure this.”
He further went on to share that he has “absolute confidence in the relevant Ministers in the cabinet, the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus and the officials of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).”
Buhari assured Nigerians that these agencies are “all capable and are providing constant updates and professional counsel.”
