Earlier today, OYOGist.com reported of a pipeline explosion that caused a fire outbreak in Abule Ado community in Festac, Lagos which led to the loss of lives and properties on Sunday, 15th of March.
Videos circulating on the web showed people lamenting helplessly as their houses burnt to the ground with people trapped in them.
President Buhari has reacted to the news of the unfortunate incident on his official Twitter page.
“I received with sadness the news of the explosion in Lagos, which caused loss of lives and property,” Buhari said.
“While the NNPC makes efforts to determine the cause of the incident, I send my deepest sympathies to the victims, their families, and the Government and people of Lagos State.”
This is not the first time a pipeline explosion would be occurring in Lagos State. Earlier this year, an explosion also occurred on the Abule Egba pipeline which also led to the loss of several lives and properties in the state.
The Abule Egba fire outbreak also happened on a pipeline that is owned and operated by NNPC.
