Oyogist has learned that Popular tennis player, Novak Djokovic is free to leave his lawyer’s Melbourne CBD office after Immigration Minister Alex Hawke declined to make use of a four-hour window to cancel the tennis star’s visa under the Migration Act.
Shortly after a judge announced Djokovic’s release from detention, there were Wild scenes of celebration in Melbourne.
Excited fans were seen swamping a tinted car believed to have Djokovic inside at around 8.45pm on Monday, with some even laying in the road in sheer jubilation as they chanted his name, before it was eventually revealed to be just a member of his entourage.
The freed tennis star broke his social media silence just after midnight on Monday, saying he was ‘pleased and grateful’ that the visa cancellation was overturned.
His brother has since revealed that the tennis star went straight back to training on Monday night, indicating he somehow left his lawyers’ office without his fans or the world’s press noticing.
