Oyogist.com has learnt that the prime minister of Italy, Giuseppe Conte has formally tabled down his resignation from the position.
He decided to step down in order to form a new coalition government to handle the coronavirus pandemic, in the country.
President Sergio Mattarella approved Conte’s decision to step down, further stating that the Government “reserves the right to decide (what to do next) and invited the government to stay in office in a caretaker capacity”, an Italian presidency statement said.
