According to reports reaching Oyogist.com, Facebook has said it would set-up it’s news tab feature starting from the UK next year, as it aims to pay publishers for stories delivered in the tab.
“With Facebook News, we will pay publishers for content that is not already on the platform, help drive new audiences, and bring publishers greater monetisation opportunities,” Facebook wrote in a blog post.
“We will continue to work with publishers in countries where market conditions and regulatory environments invite this kind of investment and innovation,” it added.
Facebook’s director of news partnerships Jesper Doub said the company was “in active negotiations” to bring the feature to France and Germany.
