The Official PDP has asked the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, to not hide under the disagreements and confusion in his party over 2023 election, to divert attention from reports of how N4.6 billion public fund was diverted into private bank accounts during his tenure as Minister of Power, Works and Housing.
PDP however describes as disheartening that a highly respected minister like Babatunde Fashola has did not explain how such amount of cash was allegedly diverted through surreptitious payments, in 654 tranches to 21 private bank accounts during a space of two months; a situation which highlights the extent of rot therein ministry within the years of its existence under his watch.
Babatunde Fashola has did not answer Nigerians inquisitions on how he allegedly oversaw such a corrupt system, which points to why our nation’s power, housing and road infrastructure sector had remained in shambles despite the large resources allocated during the tenure.
It is rather pathetic that Babatunde Fashola remains in his political dream under a rejected APC when the people have moved on whilst Nigerians of goodwill are already rallying on the platform of our party for solutions to the myriads of problems brought upon our nation by the APC.
PDP however notes Babatunde Fashola description of political parties within the mould of the APC as “clubs”, which further confirmed that the APC isn’t out for governance but a power-grabbing platform of self-centered individuals; the rationale our nation has been during a dire strait since the last five years.
PDP invites the general public to notice Babatunde Fashola assertion that Nigerians can only vote for a celebration that fulfills its promises.
This statement is an indictment on APC and justifies the choice by Nigerians to distance themselves from that party.
Nevertheless, PDP charges the Minister of Works and Housing to go away the difficulty of 2023 and immediately address the allegation of fraud hanging around his tenure as minister of power, works and housing.
