The International Criminal Court has revealed that it is investigating over the recent #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.
Oyogist.com earlier learnt that the office of the ICC prosecutor said it had received information of alleged crimes due to the EndSARS protest in the country.
The examination by the International Criminal Court (ICC), will “assess whether the legal criteria for opening an investigation under the Rome Statute are met”.
Human Rights group, Amnesty International, has stood firm on its claim that security forces opened fire on protesters, killing and injuring a number of people.
But both the police and army have denied all allegations pertaining to the shooting.
The ICC said it would make findings of its preliminary examination public.
