Breaking: INEC declares Akeredolu Winner of the Ondo State Gubernatorial Election

The 2020 governorship election of Ondo State held on Saturday across the 18 Local Government Areas, and the results was announced by the Local Government Collation Ofiicers of the respective LGAs.

According to report reaching OYOGist.com, Akeredolu won 12 Local Government Areas while his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede won only three. The current Deputy Governor and candidate under the platform of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Agboola Ajayi haven’t won any.

Akeredolu was announced as the winner of the 2020 Ondo governorship election after defeating his two closet rivals, Eyitayo Jegede and Agboola Ajayi.

The incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu of All Progressive Congress, got 292,830 votes, Eyitayo Jegede of People’s Democratic Party, polled 195,791 votes, and the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi got 69,127 votes. Thus, Akeredolu scores the highest votes and won with the wide margin of 97,039 votes.
