GOODNEWS: World Biggest Flagship Arrives Rivers State Nigeria

A Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (680 cubit feet / 53,000lb) flagship from Singapore arrives Nigeria in Onne Rivers State Nigeria on Saturday 15th August 2020; the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT) welcomed Maerskline Stardelhorn Vessel that has a capacity of 300m in length and 48m in width, oyogist.com reports.

This Container Ship however, was built in 2015 (5 years ago) and has been sailing under the flag of Singapore. It’s carrying capacity is 10000 TEU and her current draught is reported to be 11.9 meters. Her length overall (LOA) is 299.92 meters(~300m) and her width is 48 meters.

However, this reception was a breakthrough for Nigerian Ports Authority after a positive conclusive decision on Lagos Ports.

There has been too many traffic in Lagos Ports so the Federal Government of Nigeria (FG) decided to move some commercial activities to other parts of the country.

This decision was taken before the Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit Ship arrived Rivers State. It was one of this kind, very large and a better option for importations.
