Aaron Ramsey left Arsenal at the end of 2019 after spending eleven years with the North London club. It could be recalled that he went to Juventus as a free player after his contract extension talk broke up. Former Arsenal coach, Arsène Wenger has now revealed the major reason the Wales international did not sign a contract extension, oyogist.com reports.
The French-born tactician explained that Aaron Ramsey was willing to stay at Emirate beyond 2019 and had an agreement to do so, but the club decided to back out of the contract talk.
Arsene Wenger clearly explained that Ramsey’s agent was the reason the Welshman could not extend his contract.
In his word, the agent was a bit frustrating during the extension talk which Arsenal withdrew the contract extension. The agent might have made some demand which convinced arsenal to pull off.
The 29-year old who only started 11 league games under Sarri last season has been declared surplus for the Italian clubs. There are suggestions from different quarters that Arsenal should re-sign him.
