The Buhari-led administration has continued to champion its infrastructural development in the country, mostly visible through the Lagos-Ibadan and Ibadan-Kaduna standard gauge railway lines.
In an effort to show the masses how much progress has been made with the railway system, the government has assured citizens of free train rides from Lagos to Ibadan on the Iju-axis of the station, starting from Saturday (30th of November 2019).
However, only six passengers were reported to have taken advantage of the free rides within the first two days of the commencement of the rail operation.
Only 2 passengers boarded the train from Lagos on Monday, while 4 took the train ride to Ibadan on Tuesday.
Fidet Okhiria, the managing director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation said 2 luxury coaches would mount the tracks daily, making accomodation for only 60 to 80 passengers daily.
