There was a heavy shootout at the Ifite Area of Unizik, Awka, Anambra State this Evening, Oyogist reports.
According to sources, the incident occurred when armed robbers clashed with security Operatives who were said to have been employed by the Students Union Government, SUG of Unizik.
The armed robbers and the Vigilante Group had exchanged bullets for couple of hours before two of the robbers were allegedly gunned down and one was caught and set ablaze.
Also, one of them members of the vigilante group was shot.
The gun battle had lasted for hours and had kept residents in the area on the run.
