According to reports reaching OYOGist.com, Atletico Madrid and Spain striker Diego Costa has been sentenced to six months in prison for Tax fraud in Spain. However, it should be rest assured that the Striker will not go to prison, but will instead pay a €36,000 fine to avoid serving jail time.
It was reported that Diego pleaded guilty to a tax offense amounting to €1.1million. One of the accusations levelled against him is that he defrauded the state of more than £900,000 by failing to declare payments of more than £4.63million since his move to Chelsea back in 2014.

Costa is also accused by the Tax Agency of defrauding the authorities regarding £890,000 in image rights. The Spanish treasury also added another fiscal crime to the striker, but they withdrew and eventually cut the charges in half.
Diego is reported to have asked his club Atletico Madrid to pay the fine, a request which they refused. They will however pay him his wages in advance, so he can pay up the fine in full. The fee is said to be around €500,000 (£450,000).
