Oyogist has learned that America’s Got Talent contestant Skilyr Hicks has been found dead on Monday at a home in Liberty, South Carolina.
Her mother, Jodi told reporters that Hicks was found in the home of a friend, though she doesn’t know who the owner of the home is.
The circumstances Surrounding Hicks’ death wasn’t immediately clear to her family, the outlet reported.
Hicks, a singer-songwriter, had been battling depression and substance abuse, her mother told reporters.
Hicks’ mother said she was loved by her family, including four siblings, and sought to help those in need through her art.
