Oyogist has learned that Chinese prime minister, Xi Jinping has vowed to oversee a ‘peaceful reunification’ with Taiwan ahead of the country’s National Day of celebration on Sunday.
The president’s renewed call for the island to be integrated into China comes amid a rise in aggressive threats and provocative military action over Taiwanese airspace in recent days.
Xi jimping Disclosed this while speaking at an official celebration in Beijing’s Great Hall. ‘Reunification of the nation must be realised, and will definitely be realised,’ he warned.
‘Reunification through a peaceful manner is the most in line with the overall interest of the Chinese nation, including Taiwan compatriots.’
China’s national day of celebration was set up in honour of the 110th anniversary of the Chinese revolution in 1911 leading to the overthrow of the Qing dynasty and establishment of the Republic of China led by Sun Yat-sen.
