Oyogist has learned that Nigeria’s pro-Biafra leader Nnamdi Kanu is due to appear in an Abuja court today, to face treason and other charges.
The indigenous People of Biafra group which is campaigning for an independent state in eastern Nigeria, is proscribed by the federal government.
Nnamdi Kanu emerged as the new face of the campaign for an independent Biafran state Several years ago.
He was arrested and extradited to Nigeria last month .
Kanu’s arrest from an unknown location and his extradition to Nigeria was announced on June 27 by the country’s Attorney General, Abubakar Malami.
