Dozens of demonstrators have formed a rally at the Minnesota Governor’s Mansion ahead of the trial of a police officer charged in the death of African America, George Floyd, OYOGist.com has learned.
The trial will rule on the charge brought against white police officer Derek Chauvin in the killing of the unarmed cuffed black man.
The rally is seeking that justice is delivered as Derek Chauvin faces jury selection on the trial come Monday. Most of the demonstrators are family members of victims who have died as a result of police brutality.
George Floyd was killed during an arrest on May 25, 2020, when police officer, Derek applied a deadly restraint that was outlawed on the black man. Floyd’s death sparked a global protest against police brutality against black people under the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.
