According to reports reaching oyogist.com, US President Joe Biden has halted the national emergency order used to fund Donald Trump’s border wall.
While writing a letter to the US Congress on Thursday, Biden said that the order was “unwarranted”.
Since Trump left office as President elect of the United States, about $25bn (£18bn) had been spent on the project.
“Trump’s national emergency order for the wall construction was never about security,” wrote Arizona Democratic Congressman Raúl Grijalva on Twitter following Biden’s announcement.
“Now we must cancel the contracts and ensure that not another foot of the border wall is constructed.”
