According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) DG, Dr. Bashir Jamoh has expressed his sadness of over the lack of a government owned shipping line in the country.
Dr. Bashir Jamoh made this known during the NIMASA launch of the Knowledge Centre Library in Kirikiri, Lagos state. Speaking at the event, Dr. Jamoh also noted that the Nigerian government once had 29 vessels but currently the Nigerian government owns no shipping vessel.
Dr. Jamoh expressed his happiness over the launch of the NIMASA library sating that the library would aid the Nigerian maritime industry in the aspect of marine research. He noted that the library is of international standard which contains an e-Library along with several historical books.
“We have the library which has historical books and other types of books. We have the e-library and it is equivalent to international standard.”
