Former World Bank President, James Wolfensohn is dead

According to report reaching oyogist.com, former World Bank President and investment banker, Jim Wolfensohn has reportedly died on Wednesday at the age of 86yrs.

Jim Wolfensohn who also served as the chairman of the Boards of Carnegie Hall and the John F. Kennedy Center was said to have helped reshaped the American Institutions.

According to a statement made by the World Bank President, David Malpas stated that Jim helped in poverty reduction and also in the fight against corruption by giving a voice to the poor and needy.

“Jim sharpened its focus on poverty reduction and redoubled its efforts to combat corruption, give voice to the poor, and magnify the impact of development investments.”

“Jim transformed the World Bank Group, increasing decentralization, advancing the Bank technologically, and making the organization more open and transparent,” Malpas said.

Jim Wolfensohn was born in 1933, Sydney, Australia and was also an Australian Royal Airforce veteran. Wolfensohn is also a notable Alumni of Havard University, The University of Sydney and also the Harvard Business School. Jim died at his home in Manhattan at the age of 86.
