According to Reports reaching Oyogist.com, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson has announced plans to unveil a military spending spree, thereby increasing Britain’s investment in defence to its highest level since the Cold War.
The £16.5bn in funding for the Military would increase Military ammunition and get some necessary equipment needed to combat crime in the region ready.
“I have taken this decision in the teeth of the pandemic because the defence of the realm must come first,” the prime minister said.
“The international situation is more perilous and more intensely competitive than at any time since the Cold War and Britain must be true to our history and stand alongside our allies. To achieve this we need to upgrade our capabilities across the board”. Johnson concluded.
Meanwhile, Ben Wallace, the defence secretary, said the agreement would provide the “financial certainty we need to modernise, plan for the future and adapt to the threats we face”.
