Google has rebranded its G Suite platform to Google Workspace, a platform that combines Google’s productivity apps together.
Google Workspace includes Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and more apps.
The workspace aims to help facilitate communication among users effectively. Oyogist reports that the Google Workspace has been released to Google business customers, and will be available to other consumers in the coming months.
Google Workspace focuses on a new user experience, bringing together tools like chat, email, voice and video calling into a single, unified place.
Google further revealed that there would be a room in the workspace where users can create and collaborate on a document, as if being able to see people in a meeting when you’re collaborating together with Google Meet picture-in-picture, and more.
General Manager of Google Workspace, Javier Soltero said in a blog post; “10 years ago, when many of our products were first developed, they were created as individual apps that solved distinct challenges—like a better email with Gmail, or a new way individuals to collaborate together with Docs.”
“Over time, our products have become more integrated, so much so that the lines between our apps have started to disappear.”
