American tech entrepreneur and founder of Microsoft has on Monday, 14th of September, 2020, lost his dad, Williams H Gates Snr, OYOGist.com has gathered.
Gates, who is the founder of Microsoft and an investor in scores of tech and innovative companies, including LinkedIn is one of the richest men in the world. Gates credits his success to the roles his father played in his life growing up.
The centibillionaire announced the passing of his dad in a blog post titled, “Remembering my father“.
“My dad passed away peacefully at home yesterday, surrounded by his family,” he wrote in the blog post.
“My father’s death is a tremendous loss for our family and the many people whose lives he touched,” Bill Gates wrote in a tribute on LinkedIn. “Dad lived a long and enormously meaningful life.” Gates wrote on LinkedIn.
William H Gates senior was born on November 30, 1925, and practiced law as a profession. He was better known as Bill Gates Snr. The older Gates supervised the billionaire son’s philanthropic efforts.
Bill Gates Snr died on Monday, the 14th of September 2020.
