The Akwa Ibom State Government has setup an Automobile plant in the state which is to assemble cars. The plant which is still under construction by MIMSHAC/Merkavim Transportation Technology Ikot Ukap, Itam road Itu will be completed and ready in the first quarter of next year 2021, oyogist.com reports.
The factory will be assembling trucks, buses, and private vehicles, whose parts are bought from Isreal, and about twenty indigenes of the state will be sent to be trained in Isreal in one of the Cars assembling industries on a batches.
The factory building would be prefab, and the cars produced would be stainless and nonrust for the Nigeria roads terrain.
The factory which will recruit about 1000 people as direct and indirect staff will run on two shift of 7 hours per day.
The company wishes to add a transportation scheme, an intra city routes, inter city routes and inter-state routes. There will be construction of monitoring room for the factory and the transportation system.
Managing Director Valentino Okorie, who is in charge of the process will see to the actualization of the mandate.
