Man recounts how SARS allegedly arrested him and over 200 others in Lagos

A Nigerian man has narrated how the men of the Lagos State Anti-Cultism division of the Nigerian Police Force went on an indiscriminate arrest and arrested him alongside several others.

Twitter user, David Okwulili (user ID @dav_okwulili) recounts how he was arrested by SARS (Anti Cultism Unit) on Wednesday, the 3rd of June in Gbagada on his way from a barber’s saloon.

He recounted that there were over 200 of them that were arrested, including women and they were made to sleep in their cell until they were able to pay the bail fee of N10,000 per head. Bail is free in Nigeria.

He also alleged one lady was made to sleep in their cell for two days because she refused to sleep with one of the policemen.
