The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday, met with the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, behind closed-door in the State House.
Recall that the United States of America has ordered a fresh probe into the allegations levied against the President of African Development Bank(AfDB), Mr Adewumi Adesina, OYOGist.com has gathered.

Mr Adewumi Adesina has initially been accused of breaching 20 of the bank’s code of conduct by staff, including “unethical conduct, private gain, an impediment to efficiency, preferential treatment, and involvement in political activities.”
After an investigation carried out by AfDB’s ethics committee, led by Takuji Yano, Mr Adesina was cleared of all charges. However, the United State’s Department of Treasury, which is also the biggest non-African financier, was not satisfied with the investigation.

Niale Kaba, AfDB chair of board of governors Describing the push for a further and deeper investigation into Mr Adesina as a measure that would strengthen the image of the bank and ensure stronger support for its leader who is billed to lead the bank for another 5 years, the US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin rejected the findings of the ethics committee.
Mr Stephen Mnuchin addressed his May 22nd letter to Niale Kaba, the chair of AfDB’s board of governors.
