American singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift, in a sharp rebuke of the President and his statements to protesters who were rioting over the killing of black man, George Floyd, by a white officer, Derek Chauvin, has told the American President that he will be voted out come November.
On Friday 29th of May, Donald Trump tweeted that the protesters who were rioting by borning buildings were dishonoring the memory of George Floyd and he called them THUGS.
He further said that he would bring in soldiers and said “when looting starts, shooting starts.” This statement has drawn wide criticism and condemnation from around the country, with many saying that the President was inciting violence with his tweet.
Twitter, a second time in the week, has put a flag on the tweet as it says the tweet was “glorifying violence”.
Taylor Swift, responding to Trump tweet said, “After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November.”
