OYOGist.com has learned that the federal government on Thursday has said it was creating micro-distrubution centres for users of cooking gas to be able to afford the cylinder had as renting the federal government also hinted that the Nigerian National petroleum cooperation and other oil industry would start to make available an installed compressed natural gas pumps to ensure Nigerians change from the use of petroleum based.
Minister of state for petroleum resources, Mr. Timipre Sylva made this known that the oil sector have been deregulated and a necessary improvision and change is paramount. It’s also noted that the Port Harcourt refinery had been stalled for months due to the covid-19 occurrence in the nation. He also said the government is putting frantic effort to ensure Nigerians also can benefit more from the use of gas in cooking than kerosene as mostly used.

According to him, more effort will still be put to ensure it can be affordable by almost all Nigerians, rather than the little circular WGO were able to afford it, that’s why it has put those measures and ensures such stand point with renting of Gas cylinders will be of a high advantage.
He furthermore ended his statement by saying the cost of gas in cooking will be made cheaper and affordable, so as to override that of kerosene by setting up 32,000 Micro-distrubution centres with 5,000 workers across the country.
