Coronavirus Update: 5 new confirmed cases in Nigeria, 1st in Ekiti

Reports reaching OYOGist.com has now placed the latest number of coronavirus cases in Nigeria at 8 after five new cases were recently confirmed and the first one in Ekiti.

The five new cases were confirmed reported on Wednesday, 18th of March.

Following the new confirmation, the Federal Government is beginning to enforce social distancing rules and new travel bans in the country.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the announcement on their social channel just hours ago.

Following the announcement, the Government placed a travel ban on countries with more than 1,000 cases, including the US, UK, China and others.

The NCDC is currently compiling the travel history of the confirmed patients with a view to trace them.
