OYOGist.com learned that the Federal Government has guided the Ministry of Education to compose a national summit on innovative work inside the second quarter of 2020.
President Muhammadu Buhari gave the order on Tuesday during the assembly service of the Alex-Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI).
Buhari, spoke to by Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, said that the summit would upgrade innovative work in the nation.
He said the summit should draw members from the scholarly community, industry and top government functionaries, NAN reports.
“The summit will help in drawing up a draft plan for the nation’s exploration needs as our advancement as a country must be concretised on the off chance that we prevail with regards to getting our innovative work needs right.
“Advancement achieves harmony and agreement and I approach all colleges in the nation to help through educational plan re-designing and scholarly talk, government endeavors of making a progressively tranquil, joined together and firm country.
“Our assorted country is gone up against with the difficulties of a high populace development rate and the scholarly world must guide the reasoning and activities that convert these difficulties to circumstances.
“Let us through our reasoning, educating and activities, turn our enormous, different populace into a store of human asset capital that will use this present government’s monetary recuperation and development plan,” the President said.
