Some hours after President Muhammadu Buhari visited the distressed Maiduguri of Borno state amidst heavy security and lockdown, suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked the city.
A video report from a user captured distressed residents feeing their homes in the dark of the night as multiple explosions rocked the outskirt of the city.
Buhari and members of his cabinet paid a condolence visit to the city of Maiduguri after returning from his AU meeting in Addis Ababa today. He assured Nigerians of greater security within the entire country, promising to work harder.
But hours after departing the state, people have reported a series of bomb attacks in an unspecified location near Maiduguri suspected to be carried out by Boko Haram terrorists.
