The Governor of Cross Rivers State, Governor Ben Ayade has made public comments about the incarcerated journalist, Agba Jalingo, telling the world that Agba Jalingo is a politician and not a journalist.
“Journalism stops when it becomes blackmail,” Ayade said when describing how his relationship with the journalist goes.
“Agba Jalingo is not a journalist, Agba Jalingo is the state chairman of Sowore’s party,” Ayade said.
He further said that Cross Rivers did not arrest and put the journalist behind bars, but placed the blame and the feet of the Federal Government. He said Agba Jalingo is being tried for treason, for his role in the #RevolutionNow movement that also saw Sowore spend over 100 days in detention.
