The senior special assistant to the President on media and publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, has made a follow-up statement on his earlier tirade where he said that there are indeed cabals in President Buhari’s administration.
In a live interview with Channels Television, the spokesman said the cabals within Buhari’s government are respectable Nigerians and are not hungry people.
In his comment, he is denying the claims that the cabals are some desperate power-hungry people that are using their positions to influence the president on policies and decision making.
“A lot of people who are being dragged into this cabal thing, they are respectable Nigerians who have achieved a lot for themselves and for the nation. They are not there as hungry people who are there to grab things for themselves,” Shehu said.
He said it was a negative notion for anyone to address the people who are close to the President as hungry and specifically calling them cabals was wrong.
“Nigerians have formed the practice by labelling people that are in some advisable positions of the President as a cabal.
“People (cabals) should not be labelled negatively simply because they have offered themselves to support the President of this country,” said Shehu Garba.
