Oyogist has learned that two Iranian oil tankera were Attackes by pirates who came with five boats, local television Confirmed.
However, an iranian warship consisting of gallant soilders repelled the aytack.
The commander of Iran’s navy, described the incident as “maritime terrorism”, and stated that that the two tankers were attacked by pirates commanding five boats.
“The attacking boats were forced to leave the scene and their offensive was repelled through the timely response of commandos” on board the vessels who shot at them, Irani, head of navy command had said.
According to Irani, the two unnamed tankers passed safely through the area, which is now secure.a
Iran’s navy over the years has extended the reach of its escort operations in recent times in an effort to protect its ships from Somali pirate attacks.
