A deadly virus has attacked China, the most populous nation on earth, killing at least 41 people on the last count.
Known as Coronavirus, the outbreak started from Wuhan, a city in China’s Hubei Province, and is spreading across Europe and the rest of the world.
The viral outbreak has affected more than 1,200 people in China. With the Chinese New Year’s holiday in full swing, the risk of the outbreak spreading across the world is very high.
Many are going back home for the holidays, and they’d be expected to go back to the various countries they work from. Australia has already confirmed the presence of the coronavirus in two of its cities: Sydney and Melbourne.
UK and France have already started looking into some suspected cases of the coronavirus outbreak as investigations into some 2,000 people who traveled into their countries from China have been launched.
In some places, celebrations for the Lunar New Year have been canceled.
What happens to victims of Coronavirus?
The virus is a new phenomenon as science has no prior experience of it. The coronavirus also has no known cure or vaccinations.
According to BBC reports, when a person is infected, they experience a severe acute respiratory infection with cough and fever.
Most of the earlier victims were said to be older people with pre-existing health conditions. The first 17 that were reported matched this case.
However, according to China Global Television Network, a doctor, Liang Wudong, 62, in a hospital in Hubei Province of China was reported dead after treating patients with the infection.
Pharmacies in Hubei Province of China are now putting on protective gear to prevent coming in contact with the coronavirus infection.
What are the Symptoms of Coronavirus?
The early symptoms of the virus include dry cough, followed by shortness of breath within a week and the need to pay a visit to the hospital later.
