Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and decorated British broadcaster, Sir David Attenborough had a Skype meeting that was televised on BBC Monday 30 December 2019.
Greta, 16, and David, 93, did not want to add to the carbon footprint, and thus chose to have their meeting over Skype.
They discussed their achievements as activists, with Attenborough saying about Thunberg “Oh, she’s achieved things that many of us who have been working on for 20 odd years, have failed to achieve.”
Greta was named Time’s Person of The Year by Time magazine in 2019. She graced the cover of the prestigious magazine’s December issue.
The young climate change activist will be guest moderating a BBC’s Today programme.
