Reports from the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has placed the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country at 25, OYOGist.com has learned.
Oyo State, on Saturday also confirmed its index case of a patient who tested positive for coronavirus in Bodija, Ibadan.
“As at 06:45am on the 22nd of March, there are 25 confirmed cases of #COVID19 recorded in Nigeria,” the NCDC reports.
“Of the 25 confirmed cases, 2 have been discharged, with no death”
The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, on Sunday broke the news of the first positive patient of the coronavirus in the state. The governor said the report of the test conducted on the patient was released at 17:35 of the 21st of March, 2020.

The NCDC reported that the 3 new cases that caused the number of the Covid-19 positive patients in Nigeria to 25 are all in Lagos.
This implies that the Federal Government is yet to be notified of the index case in Oyo State and thus the actual number of confirmed coronavirus patients in Nigeria currently stands at 26, if the Ibadan patient is taken into consideration.
