The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has condemned the killing of the union’s Organising Secretary, describing the incident as a tragic loss and calling for a thorough investigation.

In a statement, MC Oluomo expressed shock and sadness over the official’s death, extending his condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and members of the union. He described the deceased as a committed officer whose contributions to the growth of the NURTW would not be forgotten.

The NURTW president urged security agencies to act swiftly by identifying, arresting and prosecuting those responsible for the killing. He stressed that those behind the crime must be brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.

MC Oluomo also appealed to members of the union to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands while investigations continue. He emphasized the importance of allowing law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties without interference.

He reaffirmed the union’s commitment to maintaining peace, unity and stability among its members, noting that violence has no place in the activities of the NURTW.
