COVID19: 8 new cases recorded from company where 30 people tested positive in Oyo

The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force has recorded 8 new cases from the company where 30 people tested positive, bringing the confirmed cases from the company to 38, OYOGist.com reports.

The head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, Governor Seyi Makinde, revealed that on the 16th of May, 31 results came back positive, with 30 cases linked to one company in the state.

On Monday, the 18th of May, Governor Seyi Makinde, in his 17th of May COVID-19 Task Force update revealed that eight out of the eleven new confirmed COVID-19 patients in the state were recorded from the company.

While the state government is yet to announce the company where most of its workers have tested positive to COVID-19 on a massive scale in Oyo State, the people have begun to speculate.

The most the people are told about the company is that it operates in Ibadan South West Local Government.

OYOGist.com has also learnt that the Oyo State government has assured the residents that the said company would be revealed in due time.

According to a source, the state government has held off on announcing the name of the company in order to prevent the staff from fleeing and making it difficult to test the entire workforce of the company.
