COVID19: Nigeria records 288 new cases with 179 in Lagos, as total surpass 5400

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 288 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria on Friday 15th of May, 2020, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 5445, OYOGist.com reports.

The new cases were recorded in Lagos with 179 cases and 14 other states including 20-Kaduna 15-Katsina 15-Jigawa 13-Borno 11-Ogun 8-Kano 7-FCT 4-Niger 4-Ekiti 3-Oyo 3-Delta 3-Bauchi 2-Kwara and 1 in Edo

The NCDC reports that the total number of discharged cases as of Friday, 15th are now 1320 while there are now 171 COVID-19 related deaths.

The NCDC has apologized for an error in Plateau and Akwa Ibom’s cases. See the correction below:

“On the 14th of May, 4 cases reported from Plateau & 1 case from Akwa Ibom, were repeat cases.

“Therefore Plateau has a total of 21 cases and Akwa Ibom has a total of 16 cases

“We apologise to this State Governments for this error & remain committed to ensuring accurate reporting”
