‘Bandits demanded seven bags of rice from us in exchange for our lives’ – Customs officer

Oyogist.com has learnt that Comptroller Aliyu Mohammed, a senior official of the Nigerian Customs Service has shared how his officers gave bandits they met in the bush 7 bags of rice to save their lives.

He disclosed this at a press briefing in yesterday, further disclosing that him, alongside his team encountered the bandits during an operation inside a forest.He said;’

“We (the operatives) seized 37 bags of rice and the bandits asked for seven bags before allowing them to pass and save our lives.

“So, you see the risk we take but people, especially those living along the border communities engaged in attacking our officers” he said.
