A Lagos State high court on Wednesday sentenced famous prophet and Shepherd responsible for Celestial Church of Christ Global Genesis Parish, Israel Oladele Ogundipe, to 2 years detainment for cheating a United States-based lady.

Preliminary adjudicator, Justice Olabisi Akinlade, condemned Oladele to the two-year prison term after she saw him as liable on two of the seven charges brought against him.

Ogundipe was summoned under the watchful eye of the court following a request documented by a UK-based engineer, Mrs Olaide Williams-Oni, who blamed him for getting a whole of N17m from her with the guarantee to help her acquire some landed property.

In her declaration under the watchful eye of the court, Williams-Oni had told the court that she met prophet

Ogundipe in 2002 during her visit to Nigeria when she was taken to his congregation for supplications by her progression sister.

The managing judge saw the priest as liable of two of the seven charges brought against him and excused the leftover five over absence of proof.

The appointed authority condemned Ogundipe, who was first charged in 2007, to in any event one year’s detainment on each check yet said the jail terms would run simultaneously.
