Man allegedly shot, killed by police in Ibadan, Iwo Road

A young man identified as Yomi Ajayi was allegedly shot and killed by a police officer at Iwo Road interchange, in Ibadan on Friday, 10th of July, OYOGist.com has gathered.

The man was said to be 32-year-old before he was allegedly killed by the police officer who was said to be drunk.

According to eyewitnesses, late Yemi and his cousin were driving to work when a team of policemen stopped them. Things turned awry when an officer started struggling with Yemi’s cousin who was the driver of the car. 

The eyewitnesses said as the driver struggled to keep his car from veering off the road, the officer allegedly fired a shot that hit Yemi in the stomach and killed him on the spot.

The state police command is yet to comment on the incident.
