Police shut lagos-ibadan road

The Nigerian Police Force has shut interstate commuters bound for Lagos State at the OPIC section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, OYOGist.com has learned.

This move, OYOGIST has learned, is in a bid to enforce the State Governors interstate travel ban aimed at curtailing interstate COVID-19 spread, that takes effect from Thursday, May 7th, 2020.

According to the Lagos State Police Command (LSPC), movements would commence on the road by 6:00 am in the morning. It is not exactly clear what time the road-block was initiated on Thursday, but it was shared on the official Twitter page of the LSPC at 12:27am on Thursday, May 7.
